Capt. Thomas Sullivan Sr., 48, his wife, Donna, 47, and daughters Meaghan, 17, and Mairead, 15, died in their home at 19 Wyndham Lane in Carmel. Thomas Sullivan Jr., 20, survived after his father woke him and then ran back into the burning house to try and save his family.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Balsamo-Cordovano Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Carmel. A religious service will take place at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The funeral Mass is at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. James the Apostle Church on Gleneida Avenue in Carmel.
"The sympathies of Westchester County go out to all who knew and loved the Sullivan family," Astorino said. "Capt. Thomas Sullivan Sr. loyally served our community during his two decades with the Larchmont Police Department, and he died as he lived – willingly putting his own life on the line for others. Words fail at a time like this, but our prayers are now with Thomas Jr. and all those who mourn this tragic loss."
