Astorino began holiday celebrations by lighting the first candle on the menorah with Rabbi Velvl Butmanand and other Chabad Lubavitch rabbis from Westchester County. The lighting ceremony also included dancing and spinning a dradle to begin the eight-day observance of Hanukkah.
On Friday, he was joined by his daughter, Kiley Rose in wishing residents a Merry Christmas. "Christmas is one of my favorite holidays," Astorino said. "It's a season of caring and spending time with family and friends."
He also extended seasons best wishes to those celebrating Kwanzaa and other holidays.
