After an exciting three-hole sudden death playoff, County Executive Robert P. Astorino was on hand to congratulate Fred Couples for winning the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship at Westchester Country Club in Harrison on Sunday.
The win was Couple's first major tournament victory on the PGA's Champion's Tour and a victory for Westchester County as well.
"Congratulations to Fred Couples one of golf's outstanding players and to everyone who played a role in the success of the tournament," said Astorino. "I am thrilled that Westchester County was chosen to be the home for the Senior Players Championship. This tournament was a great boost for economic development and tourism." After the win, Astorino interviewed Couples on why he likes coming to Westchester.
