Travel impacts are expected for the Thursday morning commute due to a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The snow is forecast to develop after 1 AM, becoming more likely after 4 AM, and then change to a wintry mix and plain rain from south to north late Thursday morning into the afternoon.

Hazardous travel is anticipated during the morning commute due to snow covered and icy roads, especially on untreated roads and surfaces.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Check the NYS Department of Transportation 511NY information for the latest road conditions. If the road conditions in your area are hazardous, consider waiting until the roads can be cleared before travelling. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of fall and injury. Be a good neighbor and check on those who may be unable to make personal preparations or may need help to clean up tomorrow.
