The Veterans Service Agency in conjunction with the James J. Peters, VA Medical Center in the Bronx, is sponsoring a "Veterans Medical Identification Card Registration Day”, at our agency's office at 112 East Post Road, 4th floor, Room 442, in White Plains, NY. Veterans who already use the VA Healthcare System and have older versions of the Veterans Identification Card should be aware the Department of Veterans Affairs has made mandatory to update to the new card.
The new cards eliminate sensitive identifying information such as social security number and date of birth that is considered an unwarranted risk for veterans receiving health care services. Veterans who have never used the VA for medical benefits must bring a copy of their (DD214) separation papers. If you are a veteran or the family member of a veteran and need a copy of a DD-214, contact Tasha Duncan by phone at (914) 995-2145 or
e-mail.
This registration day happens only on the third Thursday of the month.
If you plan to register for medical benefits, please call the Veterans Service Agency at (914) 995–2145.
