The county's six golf courses will remain open through the autumn. Remember to use the automated system to reserve your tee time.

Our Be Fit Westchester program encourages adults and children alike to get into shape through walking, cycling and running and autumn is an ideal time to explore the many, beautiful miles of trailways in our county parks. Also, be sure to try out our new Bronx River Reservation audio tour, which gives the listener insight into the natural and human history of the reservation and its role in the development of the Westchester County Park system.

It’s not so soon to start planning for holiday-time fun, so let the parks calendar of events be your guide to lots of great activities, from pumpkin picking and after-Thanksgiving hikes to a wreath-making workshop to the annual performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Westchester County Center.

The 2009-10 Westchester Way Travel Guide has a wealth of information on things to do and places to visit in Westchester.

Volunteers have been the heart and spirit of the Westchester County Parks system since the 1920s. Every year, we rely on thousands of civic-minded individuals, organizations and groups to volunteer their time and efforts to help make the parks one of the most outstanding park systems in the country. Won’t you help as well?

Don't forget to subscribe to the Parks E-Club to get up-to-the-minute information about our special events and valuable discounts.
