Below you will find links to the Social Security Administration and Medicare, two basic building blocks to financial health for senior citizens.

Many people are struggling to pay their bills in today’s economy.  But give a look at the Benefits Checkup brochure and complete the on-line questionnaire to learn about benefits you’re entitled to receive but may not know about. If you’re eligible for some, it could relieve your financial burden.  

You should also familiarize yourself with the information about money-saving services outlined in the 2009 Financial Benefits and Savings booklet. 

Long-term care insurance may or may not be right for you, so learn all you can about it.  And lastly, browse the Consumer pages on this site to help you be a more educated consumer.

The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services offers help with Medicare basics, Part D enrollment, Medigap and the New York State EPIC program.
Application for extra help with the prescription drug costs. It does not enroll you in a Medicare prescription drug plan.

Basic STAR is available to anyone who owns and lives in his or her own home. Enhanced STAR is available to senior homeowners whose incomes do not exceed the statewide standard.  Learn more.
