Patrol and protect Westchester County owned park property.

Under general supervision, Park Rangers are responsible for
          guarding park property against vandalism, theft and fire, and
          for preserving public order by patrolling park grounds.

This is a highly visible, uniformed position which assists the general
          public in the use of park facilities by encouraging responsible
          behavior and by encouraging compliance with established rules and
          regulations.

 

Guards and patrols are on foot to maintain order and protect  
         property.

Checks park areas for vandalism and park ordinance violations.

Furnishes the public with information regarding park rules, regulations,
         and procedures.

Makes security checks on park buildings and facilities.
         Assists in searches for lost children.

Keeps simple records and makes reports on activities and events that
         occur on a tour of duty.

May administer emergency first aid.

Checks for appropriate ID cards and use permits.

Performs other duties as required.
