Deputy Sheriffs undergo rigorous and continuous training.  All training is provided
by the Westchester County Police Academy.  Deputy Sheriffs complete a 40
hour Basic Course for Peace Officers followed by an additional 48 hours of
Firearms Training and must re-qualify yearly with their firearms.  Deputy
Sheriffs also receive over 40 hours of yearly in-service training in addition to
road patrol.
