Ready to join the exciting world of law enforcement?  The PSEF is continuously
recruiting those men and women ready to serve their country.  The PSEF is
very selective and seeks only those individuals who are highly qualified.  On
average, only 1 in 10 applicants pass. 

To become a member of the PSEF, a person:

Must be a Citizen of the United States

Must be of good moral character without any felony
   convictions.  (A misdemeanor offense may also bar appointment)

Must be at least 21 years old

Must be in good health and physical condition
   and able to to perform the duties of a Peace Officer

Must work or live in Westchester County

Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent

Must possess a valid New York State Driver's License

Must possess or be able to qualify for a Pistol Permit

Must complete the Westchester County Department of Public Safety
   application packet

Must pass a thorough background investigation (as used by
   County Police)

Must pass interview

Must pass all psychological exams and drug screening tests

Must be willing to subscribe to an oath or affirmation of
   allegiance for public servants
